It is an honour for me as Chairman of Naas Rugby Club for the upcoming season to welcome you all to Forenaughts. This will be a season like no other. The Covid Pandemic has impacted on all of us, but rest assured we in Naas RFC are implementing procedures to ensure that everyone who steps foot in Forenaughts will do so in a safe environment.
The pandemic means that the AIL does not start until January, but it is our intention that there will be a full fixture list for all sections in the club from September onwards, ensuring that everyone gets a chance to play the game they love.
Due to the pandemic a number of our fund raising events have had to be postponed for the foreseeable future. These include our Race Day and Golf Classic to name but two. These are going to have a serious impact on our finances. We would appreciate that anything we organise re finance is supported by you and that all membership fees are paid up, as these are the only way we can continue to operate.
As always I would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks for the financial support we receive from our Sponsors. Without them we could not provide the excellent facility we continue to develop. It is the intention of the Development Committee to continue to grow and develop Forenaughts. Last season saw our new gym open, although finances may mean that growth is slower this season than in the past.
I would like to wish John Walsh all the best on his appointment as President of the Leinster Branch for the upcoming season. I have no doubt that he will be a tremendous success in this role.
As stated the 2020/2021 season will be different than anything we have ever experienced before. However we will all pull together and get through this.
